Reka AI: Multimodal Models, Web Search and Site Owners
Table of Contents
Reka AI is a company that builds multimodal AI models. A multimodal model reads more than text, for example images, video and audio. Reka is still active in October 2026. Reka documents no crawler, user agent or robots.txt token, so there is no Reka rule to add to robots.txt.
Company status
On July 22, 2025, Reka announced $110 million in new funding, with NVIDIA and Snowflake among the investors (Reka). On October 22, 2026, the Reka website showed no notice of a sale or a shutdown. It listed these products:
- Multimodal models: Spark, Edge, Flash and Core.
- Reka Cloud, a platform to train, customize and deploy models.
- Vision, tools to tag, search and clip video through an API, MCP or an app.
API and models
The Reka API documentation covers an OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions API and the Vision APIs. The models list includes Reka’s own models, such as reka-edge-2603 and reka-flash-3, and open models from other companies. Reka also publishes open Reka Edge weights that you can run on your own hardware.
Web search
On July 10, 2025, Reka announced Reka Research. Reka described it as an agent that can browse the web and private documents to answer complex questions. It shows its reasoning and cites its sources. The current API documentation (October 2026) lists no Research or web search API.
Reka does not say which user agent Reka Research uses when it reads web pages.
What a site owner can do
You cannot target Reka in robots.txt, because Reka publishes no token. You also cannot find Reka requests in your logs by a documented user agent. If an app that uses a Reka model reads your pages, the request comes from that app. To find and block AI crawlers in general, see How to find and block AI crawlers.
