Arc Search: AI Browser App Shutting Down in 2026
Arc Search, the AI mobile browser from The Browser Company, is shutting down. Key dates, what Browse for Me did, and what it means for sites.
Arc Search is a mobile browser app from The Browser Company. Its AI feature, Browse for Me, read web pages and wrote a summary page for the user. The company is shutting Arc down: the AI features stop on November 23, 2026, and Arc ends on December 22, 2026. Site owners do not need to do anything.
Shutdown dates
The Arc website gives these dates. We checked the page on October 22, 2026.

After November 23, the iOS app stays usable as a lite mobile browser. The Browser Company says that it deletes the personal data of a deactivated account within 30 days.
Background
In a letter dated May 26, 2025, The Browser Company said that it had stopped building new features for Arc. The company moved its work to Dia, its newer AI browser. Atlassian completed its purchase of The Browser Company on October 21, 2025.
What Browse for Me did
TechCrunch reported the iPhone app on January 28, 2024. The article says that Browse for Me read at least six web pages and built a new page with different sections. Models from OpenAI and other companies powered the feature. The app also let a user send the query to the default search engine, for example Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo or Ecosia.
What this means for site owners
The Browser Company did not publish a user-agent string, a robots.txt token or IP ranges for Browse for Me that we found. For this reason, there was no documented way to allow or block it.
