# iAsk.Ai: AI Answer Engine, Sources and Site Access

iAsk.Ai is a free AI answer engine at iask.ai. People ask questions in natural language and get answers with links to sources. The copyright line on the site names Ai Search Inc. iAsk publishes no crawler documentation, so there is no documented user agent or robots.txt token to allow or block.

## How iAsk finds sources

The iAsk page [How does this work?](https://iask.ai/how_does_this_work) explains the method in general terms. iAsk says that it uses transformer neural networks, a type of AI model for text, to understand questions. The page says that a search engine of this type compares the question "with its index of web pages." Each page in the index is stored as a vector, a list of numbers that describes its content. The engine finds pages with vectors similar to the question.

iAsk does not say how it builds this index, which crawler collects the pages or how often it updates them.

## How iAsk shows sources

The [iAsk home page](https://iask.ai/) says that every answer "links back to traceable sources." The home page also lists answer modes, such as Question, Forums and Wiki, and separate modes for business, finance and law. iAsk does not publish rules for how it picks the cited pages.

## Crawlers and robots.txt

As of October 2026, iAsk has no crawler page, no published IP list and no robots.txt token. Some third-party bot lists record user agents that name iask.ai. iAsk does not confirm these names or say whether they follow robots.txt.

If you see such requests in your logs and want to stop them, block them on your server or firewall. A user-agent string is easy to copy. A match in your logs does not prove that a request came from iAsk.

iAsk documents no way to add a site to its index or to remove one from it.
