# Komo AI Search: Sources, Status and Site Access

> Komo is an AI search engine that answers with sources. Its status in October 2026, how it shows sources, and what it documents for site owners.

Komo is an AI search engine at komo.ai. Its site says: "Komo searches the web and answers with sources." Komo publishes no documentation about its search index, crawler or user agent. So a site owner has no Komo-specific control.

## Status

Komo is still online. On October 22, 2026, komo.ai answered normally, and its [pricing page](https://komo.ai/pricing) listed a free plan with daily credits and paid plans. A user must sign in to search. The site shows no shutdown notice.

## How Komo shows sources

Shared answers in the Komo [community feed](https://komo.ai/discover) show a numbered list of source pages above the answer. The answer text refers to these sources by number. Each source shows the page title and the site name.

Komo does not say which search index or search provider finds these pages. It also does not publish rules for how it picks or ranks them.

## Crawlers and robots.txt

Komo has no crawler page, no published IP list and no robots.txt token. You cannot write a robots.txt rule that targets Komo with a documented effect.

Komo documents no way to add a site to its results or to remove one. If you see unknown bot traffic in your logs and want to stop it, block it on your server or firewall. A user-agent string is easy to copy, so a name in your logs does not prove who sent the request.
