# Naver Cue: AI Search Shut Down, Now AI Briefing

> Naver Cue: was the generative AI search of Naver. It shut down in April 2026. Naver AI answers now appear as AI Briefing in Naver search.

Naver Cue: was the generative AI search service of Naver, the South Korean web portal. Naver shut it down in April 2026, at the same time as its chatbot CLOVA X. AI answers in Naver now appear as AI Briefing inside normal Naver search. If you want your pages in those answers, make sure that Naver can crawl and index your site.

## What Cue: was

Naver started a beta of Cue: on September 20, 2023 ([MTN](https://news.mtn.co.kr/news-detail/2023092013414935342)). Users asked questions in a chat format, and Cue: answered from Naver search results. Answers named their sources, for example a blog post, and linked to Naver Place reviews and Naver Shopping listings. During the beta, only verified adult users from a waiting list had access.

## The shutdown

On March 13, 2026, [Digital Today](https://www.digitaltoday.co.kr/cn/view/36222/naver-kakao-shut-clovax-cue-kakaotv) reported that Naver planned to stop CLOVA X and Cue: on April 9, 2026. Naver said that it planned to move the related technology into its main services. In September 2026, [Herald Economy](https://v.daum.net/v/W2VFKLx2H2) reported that Cue: ended in April together with CLOVA X.

## AI Briefing in Naver search

Naver launched AI Briefing for all users on March 27, 2025 ([Naver press release](https://www.navercorp.com/en/media/pressReleasesDetail?seq=32400)). It is part of the Naver search bar, with no separate sign-up. Naver describes these formats:

| Format | Sources Naver names |
|---|---|
| Official | Websites of government and public agencies |
| Multisource | Several sources, summarized at the top of the results |
| Short-form content | Summaries of clips, with links to the original content |
| Place and shopping | Location information and shopping results |

Naver says each summary shows the creator and the original source, so readers can see where the answer comes from. AI Briefing also uses content from Naver services, such as blogs, cafes and clips.

## What site owners can do

Naver does not document a separate crawler or opt-out for AI Briefing. AI Briefing uses Naver search content, so a page must first be in the Naver index.

1. Make sure that your robots.txt file does not block Yeti, the Naver search crawler. The [Naverbot guide](/ai-crawler-bot/naverbot/) lists its user agent.
2. Register your site in [Naver Search Advisor](https://searchadvisor.naver.com/), the Naver webmaster tool.
3. Submit your sitemap in Naver Search Advisor.
